The Verona Public Library is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and creative person with a strong dedication to patron services to become part of our team of Youth Services Librarians. This is a part-time position. Work involves providing reference and reader’s advisory guidance to children/teens and their caretakers at a public service desk; planning, preparing, implementing and evaluating age/interest appropriate recreational and informational programming for children birth to 18, their families, and organizations serving children; developing areas of the children’s/teen collections and selecting materials; and working with volunteers assisting with the summer reading program. We are looking for an innovative person to continue to push Youth Services into the future and to the next level. Some weekends and evenings are required. This position requires a Masters degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library school. Familiarity with web development tools, musical ability and Spanish language knowledge are a plus.
The starting wage is .54/hour. Prorated benefits include: accruing sick leave, paid holidays, personal time, paid vacation, comp-time, deferred compensation options, Wisconsin Retirement System, health insurance, dental insurance, life and disability insurance, and Flexible Spending options.
