Innovation alive and well at tc3
Every year, Tompkins Cortland Community College has a request for proposals out to the college community for innovative ideas. I am thinking about submitting something focused on Library 2.0 style services. It is a very rigorous and competitive process. Here are the criteria for 2008-2009:Project ProposalThe project description is clear and complete.The proposal should meet all required criteria and demonstrate innovation and creativity. The goals and objectives, and the plans for achieving them, should be clearly stated, reflect thorough planning and a sound implementation strategy, and be well developed, worthwhile, and realistic.The proposal directly supports and is aligned with the college’s goals and priorities.The proposal should contain specific references to the college’s goals and current priorities. 0-15 pts.The proposal clearly articulates the relationship to learning.The proposal should describe how the project will advance, improve, or enrich learning (inside or outside the classroom). When appropriate, the project description should address best practices in the discipline and in teaching and learning and should refer to current research and practice. 0-15 pts.The plan to evaluate the success of the project is complete and appropriate.The proposal should outline an effective evaluation plan that reflects the proposed learning objectives and practices, and is appropriate and adequate for the project’s size and scope. 0-15 pts.The plans to communicate the results of the project to the TC3 community are clear and appropriate. For projects that will create instructional materials, plans should be given as to how they will distribute the materials effectively.0-5 pts.Plan for ImplementationAre the activities and events clearly outlined? An adequate description of the general plan of work, including the broad design of activities to be undertaken, should be stated. 0-5 pts. …
